Ntldr
Missing - No Need To Panic
After turning on the computer usually
we see a windows logo and then the main screen. What
if it doesn’t happen and we see a black screen with
an error called ntldr missing. New
users may feel clueless. Probably they would try to
re-install the entire windows and many more. However,
there is nothing to be scared of. It is something which
could be resolved within 5 minutes if proper steps are
taken.
Let us check the priority of ntldr. The full name of
NTLDR is NT BootLoader. It is a tiny program which is
located in NT kernel, such as NT, 2000, XP, Vista. The
main function is booting the windows from a particular
location of hard drive. Usually this particular file
is located on primary partition of the hard drive. It
cannot work without two important files which are NTLDR
and boot.ini. The error ntldr missing
comes up when any of these two file goes missing. We
can say that booting cannot happen if any of these files
doesn’t work. So, usually people try to run the windows
CD in order to repair ntldr missing
files. Moreover, issue could arise from hard drive as
well. For instance, if the power cable attached to the
hard drive is loose, system would again show ntldr
missing error.
However, before coming to any conclusion, we should
check whether we have forgotten any CD or DVD in the
computer, is there any change happened in the BIOS recently,
is there any software installed recently in the computer?
These are the primary cause of ntldr missing
error. We should check the BIOS settings and save it
again as defaults. If nothing helps then we need to
run the windows CD and follow the on-screen options
which would actually help us to deal with ntldr
missing error.
