The
Logic Behind Disk Failure
The logic behind disk failure
is simple; it has detected bad sectors on a hard drive.
The reason could be a head crash which read/ write heads
and touches the surface of the disks. May be the air
within the sealed hard disk drive unit became polluted.
The operating system may also fail to recognize the
hard drive. All these could be the possible cause of
a disk failure. Also bad processor
fan, over-clocked PCI bus, very long data cables which
are in a bad condition, overheated hard drive and a
non consistent motherboard and hard drive controller
and processor may be considerable reasons. .
Same way, disk failure may occur due
to improper usage of the computer system by users. If
we keep on switching off the computer or press the “RESET”
button frequently that could case malfunction. During
power cut, usually computer doesn’t shutdown properly
or when there are lot of applications are opened, the
system slows down. All these happen due to improper
function of the hard drive. It not only causes disk
failure but also cause data corruption, lost
file clusters and incorrect file lengths.
Moreover, disk failure also happens
when the system doesn’t pull up the required files for
booting. But it could be taken care, if we have the
windows installation CD handy. All we need to do is
to insert the CD and restart the computer. Then we need
to press any key to start the process. Then the system
would prompt for the next instruction and we need to
press “R” from the keyboard to repair. Then we need
to choose the hard drive partition, which could be the
“C:/” and system will initiate the repair process. In
this way we have come to know the logic behind disk
failure.
