Nothing
to worry about Code 19
While running a CD/DVD, if the drive
doesn’t respond and gives an error like "Windows
cannot start this hardware device because its configuration
information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged.
To fix this problem you should uninstall and then reinstall
the hardware device. (Code 19)",
then we may come to the conclusion that there could
be an issue regarding Nero, Roxio or FastEZ recording
softwares. However, Code 19 could be
resolved in a quick and simple way.
We may start form the “start” menu in order to troubleshoot
the Code 19 error. We need to open
the “Run” command and type "regedit". After
clicking on "OK" button a window would pop
up and we need look for HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
on the right side panel. Then we need to select "UpperFilters"
and click "Edit" button. After this we need
to click "Delete" button and click "Yes"
to implement the task. Now we need to select "LowerFilters".
Same way, we need to click the "Edit" button
and choose the "Delete" option. Now we need
to click "Yes". After these entire steps we
may close the window and restart the system. Code
19 error would not appear again.
Generally computer detects code 19
errors when we uninstall any program. The after effect
is that we loose access from the CD/DVD drive. By these
simple steps we are actually saving the drive to be
replaced. So, it would be better if we check the CD/DVD
drive functionality as well. We should check whether
it is properly installed and wires are attached with
the device. We should check the device manager and look
for particular driver as well. If we can upgrade the
device driver, that could be great. We have to perform
these steps in order to terminate the Code 19
error from its root.
